Cirrus uncinus, Salisbury, May 2011LATEST NEWS: October 2011 - The SpireWeather website has been completely redesigned with a modern look and more information available at-a-glance. If you are reading this then you may not like the new design?  If so then please do let me know - comments and suggestions are always welcome. Better still, upgrade your browser to the latest version and try looking at the new site again...

A new Davis Vantage Vue automatic weather station was installed in June 2011 which is more accurate and less influenced by local conditions.  As a result yearly and all-time records were reset on 1st July 2011, but the original records are still available here.

SpireWeather is also part of the Met Office Weather Observations Website (WOW) project, which aims to build up a wider overview of weather observations across the UK submitted by anyone with an interest in meteorology. You don’t need sophisticated equipment to take part - just your eyes and a general interest in the weather. Why not give it a go?
